1. What we collect
- Account data: email address, account role (Brand or Creator), display name.
- Campaign data: job briefs, offers, submissions, revision notes, and the videos Creators upload.
- Payment data: Mera does not collect or store card numbers or bank account details. Stripe collects and stores that information directly and shares back only what Mera needs to operate the marketplace — such as whether a payout account is verified, and transaction identifiers.
- Usage data: basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention.
2. How we use it
- To operate the marketplace: matching Brands and Creators, processing approvals, and moving payments through Stripe.
- To communicate with you about your account, campaigns, and payouts.
- To detect fraud, abuse, and violations of the Terms of Service.
- To improve the product. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
3. Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary data with:
- Stripe — for identity verification (Creators), payment processing, and payouts.
- Supabase — our database and file storage provider, which hosts account data and uploaded videos.
- Law enforcement or regulators, only when legally required.
We do not share your data with advertisers.
4. Video storage
Uploaded videos are stored in a private storage bucket. Only the Creator who uploaded a video and the Brand who owns the associated campaign can access it, through short-lived signed links — videos are never publicly listed or indexable.
5. Data retention
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet our financial and legal recordkeeping obligations after that. You can request deletion of your account; some transaction records may be retained where required by law (e.g., for tax purposes).
6. Your choices
- You can review and update your account information at any time.
- You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting support.
- You can manage your payout and banking information directly in your Stripe-hosted dashboard.
7. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: encrypted connections, role-based database access controls, and no direct handling of payment card data. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users if a breach materially affects their data, as required by law.
8. Children
Mera is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll post updates here with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated to active users.
